Rumbleverse, the newest game from Iron Galaxy (makers of games like Killer Instinct) and published by Epic Games, seems to be doing quite well so far. This third-person melee-based Battle Royale has 40 players drop into the illustrious Grapital City to duke it out with melee combos, suplexes, and all kinds of flashyRumbleversemovesto see who reigns supreme.

Now, in the current version of the game, there are only three options, Solo Queue, Duo Queue, and Playground Explore, which essentially functions as the tutorial zone free-roam area. But, because the maximum party is only two people, it can be a bit of a surprise for those used to four-person BRs.

Additionally, the game relies pretty heavily on the Epic Game Store’s friends list system instead of having an integrated onelike most other Battle Royales do, so actually joining a party can be confusing. With that in mind, let’s review exactly how players are meant to add, connect, and play with each other inRumbleverse.

How Rumbleverse’s Social System Works

Once again,Rumbleverse"sort of" has its ownFriends Listsystem, but it mainly relies on theEpic Game Launcher’spre-established Friends List. Players can’t add each other to their Friends List in-game –there’s no separate Friends List as it just pulls from the EGL, and the Social Overlay that usually works as a substitute in these situations (activated withShift+F3) doesn’t work either.

The most players can do withinRumbleverseisInvite to Party, Report Player,orBlock Player. So, it might be easiest to make sure the"Minimize To System Tray" option is off in the EGL settings or be ready to re-launch the Launcher onceRumbleversestarts up in order to invite or add friends using its Friends List.

How to Add & Play With Friends

All that confusing stuff aside, it’s relatively simple to get a Duo Party going inRumbleverse, all things considered. Here’s the step-by-step process of how to do it exactly:

This process can be a bit tedious, but the actual gameplay ofRumbleverseis more than worth the aggravation. Duo Queue in this game, especially, has a lot of small ways that it plays differently from a Solo Queue game, so players should try it at least once just to see which they prefer.

And luckily, even if a player doesn’t have any Friends online, they can still queue up forDuo Battle Royaleand be matched up with a teammate (most of the time).

Rumbleverseis now available for PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series One and X/S.
