Recently, a new rumor thatCandy Crushmay appear on the Xbox platform has surfaced online. As spotted by Pure Xbox, Microsoft has already put a page for theCandy Crush Sagaon Microsoft Rewards. At the moment, the title is still listed as not available, and there’s no release date or actual confirmation that this is a real page and not a mistake, so players will need to wait and see.
Gamers who remember Activision’s CEO’s words from last year may be hopeful, though. At the time,Bobby Kotick talked aboutCandy Crushand the Activision Blizzard acquisition. He affirmed that he would like to see gamers competing with each other on Candy Crush, which is a feature that Xbox could easily provide.
At the moment, however, it’s still too early to tell if the acquisition will go through, which would allowCandy Crush Sagato be offered on the Xbox almost without any doubts. Recently, for instance, one Arkane Studios developer claimed that Microsoft told them to shut down development onRedfallfor PS5 and focus only on PC and Xbox, something that would contradict the previous statements that the tech giant would not hog all games and only release them on its platforms.Microsoft fired back against the allegations, saying that there were no actual plans for developing for PS5 to start with.
On the other hand, if UK courts are to be taken into account, the situation does not look so bad for Microsoft. The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority recently decided that theActivision Blizzard acquisition is not a danger to the competition. According to them, the cost of withholding such a prominent IP asCall of Duty, which is at the center of the controversy, from Sony’s platform would be a huge financial loss for Microsoft, and not make much sense at all.
