Sea of ThievesSeason 10 is set to release on October 19. Like other seasons, this one will include different cosmetics, adventures, and some fixes. Unlike guilds which are being added toSea of Thieveswith Season 10’s launch, the Safer Seas private servers won’t be joining the rotation until December.Sea of Thievesfans who choose to play Safer Seas will be able to group with up to three other pirates. Safer Seas players can learn the mechanics of the game, doSea of ThievesTall Tales, and complete quests. While the gold and reputation will transfer to High Seas if players move to the shared world, it’s earned at a 30% reduced rate in Safer Seas.
According toSea of ThievesCreative Director Mike Chapman, private servers have been a request since the game launched. Because theSea of ThievesSafer Seas removes aspects of the shared world in the main game, it won’t play exactly the same. Among the things that are still exclusive to High Seas areSea of ThievesCaptainand Pirate Legend status, and the Athena’s Fortunate and Reaper’s Bones factions. This is to allow new players to get an idea of what to do in the game before having to encounter PvP. The game mode may also benefit players who are trying to complete certain tasks without getting into ship battles with other pirates.
Although much of theSea of ThievesSeason 10preview focused on Safer Seas, Rare confirmed that the shared world will remain its main focus. While Safer Seas was confirmed for December, the specific release date remains unclear.
Sea of Thievesis available now for PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
