Reddit user LongFineArt shared their brilliant oil painting, which shows Whiterun from a distance in what appears to be an evening scene, with the iconic silhouette of the city placed against a beautiful purple backdrop. The piece has an air of danger, with a dragon circling the city overhead. Plenty of players remember their first-ever dragon fight inSkyrim, and because of that, the painting almost invokes a sense of nostalgia about the game.
Since the game’s release, there have been some amazing fan recreations of Whiterun, and LongFineArt’s piece joins the list as one of the best. There was aSkyrimfan who made a picture of Whiterun using only MS Paint, and it’s cool to see how using a different set of tools changes the final piece. With it remaining one of the most iconic cities from the game, it will be interesting to see how fans choose to depict Whiterun going forward, and it’s great to see them still getting creative with it after all this time.
