Despite releasing over a decade ago,The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrimremains one of the most popular and remarkably accessible games currently in circulation. With versions ofSkyrimspanning across multiple console generations, including a port to the Nintendo Switch, players have been able to enjoySkyrimin a variety of forms and achieve a number of unique accomplishments in-game. Now, one player has managed to push the limits ofSkyrim’ssense of realism in an exciting new direction.

One of the more understated but exciting aspects ofSkyrimis its character creator. In the base version ofSkyrim, the character creator can allow players to make an impressive array of characters. One player even managed tobuild Thor inSkyrim, and even without mods, the character looks extremely similar to how Thor looks in the MCU. Though, mods have allowed players an additional layer of realism to the character creator, as one player recently illustrated.

Over on Reddit, a user named AureliaRiddle showed off a cool image that details the characters inSkyrimshe made that depict both her and her father. The side-by-side images show just how detailed and realistic the characters are to their real-world counterparts. Not to mention how much the mods add to the in-game characters in terms of both textures and lighting.

The fact that this user was able to recreate herself and her father with such a high level of detail is extremely impressive to see. For years now, players have pushed the limits ofSkyrimin creative new directions, but a lot of the more ubiquitous in-game features likeSkyrim’scharacter creatortend to get overlooked by comparison to all the crazy things players have managed to do within the game world.

It’s amazing thatSkyrim’spopularity has continued to persist this long after its initial launch to the point where it has continued to impact new players in unexpected ways. This is likely due to the recent release ofSkyrim: Anniversary Edition, which not only added new in-game content but also made mods more accessible for console players.
