The Dragonborn canbecome Thane in the various HoldsofSkyrim.Each holdis the area around the major towns and cities. Players need to befriend the jarl of that particular hold and assist its citizens to attain the title of Thane. Being Thane means players can purchase a house/land in the area and convince guards to look the other way while committing crimes. They will also be rewarded with a housecarl companion for protection along with a unique weapon.
Falkreath is a small village inSkyrim.This dreary village contains the fewest citizens of any hold in the game. This means players should help them quickly as citizens can be killed permanently in dragon and vampire attacks. Follow this walkthrough to become Thane of Falkreath Hold.

Befriend Jarl Siddgeir
Speak to Jarl Siddgeir, and he will request a bottle of Black-Briar Mead for the “Rare Gifts” side quest. If players have received a letter from the Jarl via courier this quest will be completely skipped on meeting him for the first time. Siddgeir will then give theDragonborn a radiant questto kill a bandit leader. The location will vary between playthroughs.
Go kill the leader and return for a reward. Siddgeir will see the Dragonborn as someone who can be trusted. Ask him to become Thane, and he will task the player with helping the villagers of Falkreath.
Helvard is the Jarl’s bodyguard, and he is one of the targets duringthe Dark Brotherhood storyline.Killing him before becoming Thane will cut players off from the entire Falkreath Thane quest.
Assist Three Citizens
Completing the Falkreath Thane questline grants players the ability to purchase the Lakeview Manor propertyas part of theHearthfireExpansion.The Dragonborn will also receive the Blade of Falkreath as a reward.
Dengeir of Stuhn
Speak to him at his house or the Dead Man’s Drink Inn. Steal a private letter from Lod’s house and return it to Dengeir.
Hert
Chop wood for Hert and sell it to her at the Half-Moon Mill.
Gather crops around Corpselight Farm and sell them to Mathies.
Runil
Speak to him at the Hall of the Dead in Falkreath. Find Runil’s Journal and return it to him.
Thadgeir
Speak to Thadgeir at Dengeir’s home and Deliver Berit’s Ashes to Runil for him.
