Plush brand Squishmallows revealed aSonic the Hedgehogcollection featuring some of the franchise’s iconic characters. The brand has previously released collections based on other popular franchises, such asSpongebob Squarepants,Hello Kitty, and aPokemonline featuring Pikachu and Gengar.
Sonic the Hedgehoghas been around since the ’90s, with the first game released in 1991 for the SEGA Genesis. Known for his speedy movements, Sonic, along with his friends and enemies, have become a household name because of its unique platformer-style gameplay, as well as its many TV shows and movies. The latest titleSonic Frontiers, an open world 3D platformer, came out in November this year to impressive success as it becamethe fastest-sellingSonicgame in Japan.

With its iconic status in the gaming world, Squishmallows revealed an exclusiveSonic the Hedgehogline of plush toys on Christmas Eve. Available online on Toy Drops, the collection features eight-inch tall plushies of Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Shadow, each retails for $19.99, while the Squishmallow Sonic full set costs $74.99. According to Toy Drops' Instagram page, the Squishmallows will be available for a limited time and while supplies last, but as of writing, the individual toys and full set are still available on the site.Sonicfans and toy lovers might be able to grab one or all of the Squishmallows before the year ends (or even next year, if they’re lucky).
Over on social media,Sonicfans shared photos of their Squishmallows set, which they managed to order as soon as they became available on Toy Drops' website, and expressed how much they adored their adorable plush toys. Meanwhile, there are a couple of people who don’t seem impressed by the SquishmallowsSoniccollection, with one saying that it “missed the mark.” Regardless, theSonic the HedgehogSquishmallows seem to be toy collector must-haves, which they can display right next to theirSonicBuild-a-Bear stuffed toys.
While there’s no news yet on whether Toy Drops would restock theSonic the HedgehogSquishmallows collection, it’s possible that fans might see more of them, especially with the continuing success ofSonic Frontiers. ThelatestSonictitle is expected to have many DLC updatesthroughout 2023, including new features, cosmetics, more playable characters, and a new story. It’s safe to assume that fans of the game will have more to look forward to, especially after finishing their first run. The DLCs are also a great way to attract new players with fresh content, probably until SEGA comes out with its nextSonicgame.
