That’s not all, as the film has earned $1.6 billion globally, making it the eighth highest-grossing film at the global box office. The final chapter ofTom Holland’sSpider-Mantrilogyseems to have won hearts worldwide.

Over the past weekend,Spider-Man: No Way Homebypassed its Marvel Cinematic Universe predecessorBlack Panther. TheChadwick Boseman-led filmwas a defining movie for the MCU for many reasons. Not only did it earn millions of dollars at the domestic box office, but it was also Marvel Studios' first Black-superhero led film. It created a new legacy in the MCU’s history, finally adopting Stan Lee’s vision of diversity, and had held the fourth spot on the domestic box office list until now.
Spider-Man: No Way Homehas now joined the ranks of the top 5 highest-grossing films in the US, which includeStar Wars: The Force Awakensat $936.7 million,Avengers: Endgameat $858.4 million,Avatarat $760.5 million, andBlack Pantherat $700.4 million. The Multiversal flick is also among the top 10 biggest movies of all time globally. The list is led by James Cameron’sAvatarwith a whopping $2.8 billion.
Before the film was released,Spider-Man: No Way Homewas the topic of conversation among MCU fans for months. Fan theories about multiple Spider-Men fighting together in the film flooded the internet, and fans were convinced that they had spotted Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield on the sets of the film.Garfield lied about his involvement as Spider-Manin the film in multiple interviews prior to its release.
