Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris a huge game compared toStar Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which can mostly be attributed to how much more the sequel’s planets have to offer in terms of exploration and content.Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’s level design is remembered for how much backtracking there was in claustrophobic maps without fast travel, and even thoughStar Wars Jedi: Survivorfeatures fast travel, it is still a long trek to-and-from desired meditation points. Even if repeating these treks may not be highly desired,Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s New Journey Plusis a welcome addition at launch.
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Orderhad its own New Journey Plus, though it did not feature that game mode on release. Instead, it dropped alongside a substantial update almost six months later that introduced combat challenges through meditative training, as well as a red lightsaber crystal and the Inquisitor armor Cal is seen wearing during his premonition on Bogano.God of War Ragnarok’sown New Game Plus moderecently dropped with substantial additions of its own, but releasing New Game Plus modes long after release may not elicit excitement in the same way.

God of War Ragnarok Only Just Received Its New Game Plus Update
God of War Ragnarokis an enormous game with a lot to complete if players want to, which makes the idea of having to start fresh on a new playthrough discouraging for some fans. Therefore, not having New Game Plus at launch was not necessarily a detriment to how wellGod of War Ragnarokwould do in terms of sales, but it likely impacted how much time fans would spend with it once they rolled credits or achieved 100 percent completion.
Having to start again from scratch may not have been an issue for fans who adore its narrative and gameplay, especially to play around withGod of War Ragnarok’s build system, but many players might not have that much time to spend with one game exclusively. Loads of games come out all the time, and especially lately it seems as if they are releasing back-to-back with titles such asHorizon Forbidden West’s Burning Shores DLC,Star Wars Jedi: Survivor,Redfall, andThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdomall launching within weeks of one another.
There may be hardly any time to finish a game to its desired completion on a single playthrough, let alone doubling that with a second playthrough. That is whyStar Wars Jedi: Survivormay have given itself a big boon when it comes to its own release.
Why Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s New Journey Plus Gives It a Longer Shelf Life
Star Wars Jedi: Survivorhaving New Journey Plus at launch gives it better longevity around its release. This ensures that fans can get as much of the experience possible completed on their own time right around launch, and they are able to run through a second playthrough with skins and abilities instantly unlocked for their enjoyment and convenience. Otherwise, fans may be content to continue playing on their original playthrough in order toreach 100 percent completion inStar Wars Jedi: Survivor.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivordoes not need to hope that fans are willing to return to the game in the future to play through it again because New Journey Plus is already available, including perks that can make the game exceptionally more difficult and gratifying on their subsequent playthrough. It is unknown whether there are plans for the game to get DLC at some point, but as of right now, it can already be considered a complete experience besidesStar Wars Jedi: Survivor’s need for performance updateson all platforms.
Star Wars Jedi: Survivoris available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
