Stardew Valleyhas a variety of different activities to take on throughout its seasons. Apart from farming and fishing, players can enter one of the game’s mines and collect ores and take on enemies there. These mines are some of the more dangerous places inStardew Valleyand one player showed off why in a devastating post.
Stardew Valleywas released in 2016 and brings players to their grandfather’s old farm on the outskirts of a small town. The game is generally peaceful, with players given a certain amount of energy to use throughout their day. When enteringStardew Valley’s mines, however, players are often attacked by various monsters. As players will eventually find out, passing out to these can result in the loss of items.

This post by Reddit user TomatoManTM is brutal to see for those familiar withStardew Valleyand its late game items. In the screenshot, there is a long list of items that this player lost after dying in the mines, and it includes some incredibly valuable items. TomatoManTM lost 3 Galaxy Souls, 8 Emeralds, 2 Mega Bombs, and their Infinity Blade in this terrible moment. Galaxy Souls are very late game items that can be used to create some ofthe best weapons inStardew Valley, the Infinity Blade, Infinity Dagger, and Infinity Gavel. Losing these Souls alone is horrible because of their rarity but coupled with the loss of the Infinity Blade, the ores and the Mega Bombs just adds insult to injury.
The good news forStardew Valleyplayers in a similar situation is that they can recover one of the items they lost after dying in the mines. Marlon, one of themore interesting villagers inStardew Valley, will hold lost items in the Adventurer’s Guild Menu, but players have to buy their item back at the same price it is valued at the Shipping Box. Unfortunately for TomatoManTM, they must choose between saving one of their best swords, the Infinity Blade, or recovering the Galaxy Souls they found.
Makingthe most out of the mines in Stardew Valleyis important to progressing throughStardew Valley. Players gain new weapons and armor as they work their way down the mines but also face greater and greater challenges. Though losing items after death can be brutal, it adds an important layer of risk to balance the reward.
Then again, this player lost some incredibly valuable items and all just because of a small error. This post especially seems like a huge punishment for a minor slip up while exploring. Either way, this player has definitely earned some sympathy from theStardew Valleycommunity.
Stardew Valleyis available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
