InStardew Valley, crafting opens the door to a realm of creativity and efficiency, allowing players to transform raw materials into valuable tools, equipment, and artisan goods. From the moment the game begins, players can craft various items suited to their virtual homestead to enhance its functionality.

Crafting is quitedifferent from Cooking, as a majority of the crafted items are not edible. Initially, inStardew Valley, players have access to10basic Crafting recipes, but as they progress through the game, they unlock many more. Each recipe requires a list of ingredients that are consumed during the Crafting process.

How to Craft in Stardew Valley

To access theCrafting Menu inStardew Valley, players must open the Main Menu – using theE/ESC buttonson PC, theX buttonon Switch, theB buttonon Xbox, and theCircle buttonon PlayStation. Next, they need to navigate to the Crafting tab (denoted by a hammer icon).

Crafting recipes with all the required ingredients will be highlighted, while recipes that are missing any ingredients will appear faded gray. Hovering the cursor over an item reveals the required materials. Ingredient names inredindicate the items missingfrom the player’s inventory.

To craft an item, players simply need toclickon its icon once they have gathered all the necessary ingredients. The newly crafted item will appear under the player’s cursor, ready to be placed into their Inventory.

Initially, the player’s inventory consists of12 slots, but it can be expanded to a maximum of36 slots.Players can purchase these upgraded backpacks at Pierre’s General Store.

New Crafting recipes can be unlocked as theplayer levels up their Skills. Recipes can also be purchased from various in-game shops or received as gifts when players build deeper friendships with the villagers. As the player acquires more recipes, the crafting screen may expand across multiple pages.

In theOptions tab(denoted by a gaming controller), enabling the “Show Advanced Crafting Information” option displays the number of items the player has crafted. This can help players track their Crafting progress.
