Summary
Starfieldplayers are asking for Bethesda to implement a feature that has been teased for the game as early as some of its concept art. The addition of this feature inStarfieldwould certainly bring some exciting life to the game’s worlds.
It feels as thoughStarfieldis in an interesting place right now. Bethesda continues to update the game with a bunch of fixes and new content, making some strong steps forward after its mixed reception at launch. Yet, despite this, it feels as though some missteps are still being made with the title, holding it back from universal greatness. Just recently,Starfieldwas review-bombed nine months after launch, thanks to controversial pricing on some of the new Creation Club items, which are essentially paid mods.
Redditor Dejected_Cyberpsycho shared an image online of concept art fromStarfield, which features a cat walking around a spaceship. Cats aren’t featured inStarfield, although it would be an interesting way to make the interior spaces of the game a lot more lively. It’s unclear why cats never made it into the release ofStarfield, and several users in the thread pointed out that they were present in Bethesda’s previous release,Fallout 4. It was clarified by others that the currentStarfieldloreimplies that several pets went extinct, including cats, but many would definitely be able to look past this in order to get their furry friends by their side in-game.
Starfield Fans Want Cats Added Into the Game
Dejected_Cyberpsycho did begin the thread by requesting cats in the form of a mod, which could make a ton of sense. With the newestStarfieldupdate seeing the launch of the Creation Kiton PC, cats coming to the game definitely seems more likely than ever. The Creation Kit is what many modders have been waiting for - custom tools that give talented creators the ability to dive deeper under the hood ofStarfield, which in turn allows for the creation of more advanced mods. While the results won’t be instant, gamers should keep an eye on theStarfieldmodding scene over the next few months.
There’s still a lot more to come fromStarfieldthis year. At the Xbox Games Showcase, Bethesda finally showed offStarfield’s Shattered Space DLC, which looks like a total horror game in the best way possible. It looks to be making a ton of interesting design decisions, and it remains to be seen whether it pays off in improving the game’s overall reception from the community.
