Biomes on Jemison

Jemison has a total of four biomes: deciduous forest, coniferous forest, mountains, and frozen mountains.New Atlantis is in a deciduous forest zone, and the Fracking Station is in the frozen mountains biome. Between the two locations, players will find every resource, all nine fauna, and seven of eight flora.

To get the last plant, players must create a new landing site in the mountain biome. To do so, search for a brown spot on the planetary view and select it. Players may have to click twice for the destination icon to appear. Once it does, players can land in the mountainsand find the last bits of data they need to complete the survey.

Resources and Life on Jemison

Jemison is a planet full of diverse plants and animals and rich in natural resources. Players who want to catalog it all have their work cut out for them, which is why it helps to use some shortcuts. The Surveying skill lets players scan flora, fauna, and resources from farther away, which means they can keep their distance from dangerous animals and run around less often. The skills Zoology and Botanyallow players to scan animals and plants less often to complete their survey entries, but the Geology skill doesn’t make resource scanning any easier.

Something else players should know is thatkilling an animal counts as a scan. This is especially useful when it comes to aggressive animals too dangerous to approach and flying animals too distant to scan normally.

How to Discover Jemison’s Traits

To complete the survey, players mustfind and scan three special locationsthat represent the unique traits of the planet Jemison. Fortunately, players can find all three in the area surrounding New Atlantis. Simply look around for unexplored destinations using the hand scanner and start hiking. The unique traits aren’t caves or artificial structures, but the other icons can turn out to be one of these traits.

Once players reach one of these locations, look around for one or two scannable objects. Only one location of each type needs scanning to add it to the survey data. However, players can benefit from visiting more than one, because each one provides a few XP and always has a rock pile or dung pile in the area. Each pilecan contain credits, weapons, and useful resources. The traits to search for are:

With the survey complete, players can make a serious bit of cash by selling the Jemison Survey Slate. However, players shouldsave this slate for Vladimir in The Eye, who always offers the best price for survey results.
