Exploring planets inStarfieldisn’t safe, and there are many dangers players will have to counter. Not all of them come in the form of Ecliptic mercenaries, Spacers, or even aliens—some are the kind that can’t be attacked with weapons alone.

Airborne environmental resistance refers to various airborne “threats” that players will have to deal with, mainly contaminants and the like. While there are aid items in the game to counter the effects of long-term exposure, having good, protective armor is a great first step. Here’s how to counter any airborne bacteria inStarfield. Environmental resistance comes in several set values, 30 being the highest (if Starborn suitsare excluded). All following suits have the highest (and thus the same) value.
The 10 Starborn suits will not be considered for this ranking, as they consistently rank above all other suits.
Honorable Mentions
This list is still a work in progress. Missing spacesuits will be added as soon as they are found:
8Cydonia Spacesuit
A unique, white-green spacesuit with a classic look, this is one of the spacesuits that players should have in their collection for the sake of, well, collecting stuff. As its name implies, it can only be acquired from Cydonia, so head over to the Martian colony.
Walk in, and on the top floor before the stairs, head left, opposite the local barand the Trade Authority. A local vendor will have a small shop around this area and will sell this very suit.
7Deep Mining Spacesuit
A classic spacesuit that’s easily the most common one in the game, the Deep Mining Spacesuit can be bought from almost every vendor who sells spacesuits. It also frequently appears in structures and POIs that are related to mining, most often on mannequins and inside display cases.

Players also start off with this spacesuit when first firing upStarfieldand working for Argos Extraction. It’s not a fantastic spacesuit by any means, but it does have decent protection against Airborne hazards.
6Deepcore Spacesuit
Another spacesuit with a highly functional appearance and style, it’s highly common in any vendor’s inventory. Check all the major vendors in major cities and settlements, and the Deepcore Spacesuit should appear soon enough.
Similar to the Deep Mining one, it’s a frequent loot drop at various POIs. verify to check any mining-related structures in particular when looking for this one, as it is most likely to appear there inside display cases and such.
5UC Marine Spacesuit
Another spacesuit that can be acquired from a vendor, the UC Marine Spacesuit has a more sleek appearance than all the previous suits that come with a bulky appearance. Given it’s a UC suit, players are best off looking for it in UC space, either in Cydonia, Gagarin,or New Atlantis.
As far as it’s known for now, it doesn’t drop randomly as loot anywhere in the world, so it needs to be purchased.
4Deimos Spacesuit
The Deimos suit is a bit more exclusive than the previous ones. Head to Cydonia and speak with the head of the miners, Trevor, at the bottom floor to start a quest. After completing Red Tape Reclamation, players will receive this distinctively red and Martian-looking spacesuit.
There are some rumors that the Deimos Spacesuit can also be acquired as loot from certain planets, but for a guaranteed drop, completing the quest for Trevor is a player’s best and safest bet.
3Mantis Spacesuit
The bizarre Mantis Spacesuit also comes with good resistance against Airborne hazards but requires playersto complete the Mantis quest line. It’s one ofStarfield’sfinest side quests, which begins when players pick up a note from a dead enemy hinting at a great treasure hidden on a distant planet.

Follow the clue and solve the puzzle within the quest to access the Razorleaf ship, as well as the full Mantis set—helmet, boost pack, and all.
2UC Vanguard Spacesuit
Easily one of the simplest spacesuits to get early on, the UC Vanguard Spacesuit is granted to those who join the Vanguard. Players can register as soon as they arrive at New Atlantis. Given it’s one of the more beginner-friendly faction questlines, getting it done early is highly recommended. Plus, the suit looks decent compared to the Deep Mining suit that players start the game with.
1UC Antixeno Spacesuit
Acquiring the Antixeno Spacesuit requires a bit more legwork from players than some of the other choices here, but given how incredibly powerful it is, it shouldn’t be ignored. Follow the UC Vanguard questline until the part where players arrive at the checkpoint outside of Londinion ruins.
Before entering the city, make sure to grab all the gear, including the UC Antixeno Spacesuit. Unfortunately, this is towards the end of the UC Vanguard faction questline, so players will need to wait for a bit before getting their hands on it.
Starfieldis available on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
