Steam userscan now accomplish this by logging into their Steam accounts. In the Steam Deck section of the site, users can enter their login information and see a breakdown of every game in their library, divided into one of four categories, determined by how well the game functions on the portable device.

The first category isSteam Deck Verifiedgames, which are games that Valve itself has verified to work flawlessly with the device. Users can expect to download and boot up any game defined as such without needing to make tweaks or modifications to it. The second category is Deck Playable games, which Valve has verified will work on the device, but may require some adjustments by the user. The third category is unsupported games, which have been confirmed to not function on the device at this time. However, the developers of said games could still make changes on their side to fix this, but it’s up to each individual developer or publisher.

The final category is where users will find many games, as they simply haven’t been tested by Valve yet. These games could work flawlessly or may not at all; there’s simply so many games available on Steam that it will take Valve a while to check them all. Chances are that once the initialSteam Decks reach their buyersthat those players may begin to assemble lists of what does and doesn’t work themselves, so by the time the next waves of the Steam Deck deliveries are shipped, buyers should have a better idea of what to expect one way or another.

The Steam Deck is offering a Nintendo Switch-like experience, allowing players to theoretically bring any PC game with them on a portable device without needing to stream it from the cloud. InitialSteam Deck teardownsand reviews of the device have been positive, but the real test will come when players get their hands on the units and try them out for themselves.
