Overwatchhas managed to remain a popular title over the years. Even though many fans are anxiously waiting forthe release ofOverwatch 2, players continue to jump into matches in the original 2016 game. With so many people still playing the 6v6 shooter, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that players continue to find strange bugs. Recently, a D.Va player discovered an unusual glitch while in a match.
D.Va is one of8 tank heroes found inOverwatch. Piloting a mech with several powerful abilities, she is a popular pick in the game. Some of the abilities included in her kit are Fusion Cannons, Boosters, Micro Missiles, and a Defensive Matrix. In addition to these powerful weapons, she can cause her mech to Self-Destruct inflicting damage to enemies in the area. Despite the benefits of D.Va’s kit, one fan found out that playing the character in a match can sometimes lead to some unfortunate situations.

In a recent Reddit post, a user known as avenajpg posted a video of a D.Va player finding out the hard way that her mech can get stuck in the air. This happened to the unlucky gamer while playing a match onthe Mexican map Dorado. In the video shared on Reddit, avenajpg and their team had successfully pushed the payload towards the third and final checkpoint. Everything appeared to be going fine until avenajpg and her teammates looked up.
To the surprise of everyone in the lobby, floating high above the map was D.Va. Stuck in the sky with no way to get down, the player fired their fusion cannons at the distant ground in a futile attempt to escape the skybox. The rest of the player’s teammates, not knowing what else to do, started to wave and say hello to the stranded mech pilot. According to avenajpg, the enemy team eventually had to kill the D.Va player to end the glitch.
This new bug recorded by avenajpg has caught many in theOverwatchcommunity by surprise. With nearly 3,300 upvotes, many players found this glitch humorous. Some players guessed that the possible reason for the glitch was because the D.Va player somehow broke through the skybox and couldn’t re-enter the playable area. Furthermore, other players noted that they had experienced similar issues in the past as well
This isn’t the only glitch that has affected players in the 5 years since the game’s launch. Earlier this year,a harmful exploit was discovered inOverwatchthat was causing gamers' computers to crash after some players started spamming voice lines in lobbies. Hopefully, the developers will be able to fix this skybox problem in the future so that no other heroes become stuck above Dorado as well.
Overwatchis available now for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
