The Choices to get the Sword and the Shield Trophy
For anyone who has playedthe Dark Picturesseries, they know that choices mean a lot in these games. While some choices may seem small at the time, they can alter the game’s outcome and be the difference between death and survival. The choices in the prologue are no different, and they alter the game later on in varying ways.
At the very beginning of thesix-hour-longHouse of Ashes, Balathu will have two significant choices in this scene; he will choosewhether or not to fight alongside or to betray his sudden companion. The first choice that matters to the trophy is when Kurum asks, “How do we get out here alive?” Ifplayers answer with the Respectful choice, “We fight together,” Balathu and Kurum will decide that the “enemy of my enemy is my friend.” These two combatants will decide to take on the threat together in hopes of making it out of the situation alive.
After that, when Kurum says that they should both run, andHouse of Ashes’s Akkadiansoldier Balathu answers that then they would both die, players have the option to betray Kurum or fight alongside him.Choose the “Fight” option. Once players have chosen “Fight,“the trophy for the Sword and the Shield will be awarded.
After these two choices are made, it is the end of the prologue, and players will come face-to-face with the Curator, one of the creepiestthings about the Dark Picturesgames.
