The Mediumis one of the games heading to Xbox platforms. There’s still a lot the gaming community hasn’t learned aboutThe Mediumsince its initial reveal. However, a new trailer was shown today that uncovered a lot of new information. In addition to that, a new piece of promotional art also reveals some interesting details about the upcoming horror game.
The Mediumtraileritself was deeply unnerving, but it did a good job of keeping the finer details regarding the overall game hidden. Though, the promo art that released in tandem with the trailer does a better job of showcasing the main character, Marianne, and her special ability.

The promo art in question has a gradient effect that conveys how Marianne’s ability works within the world of the game. As shown throughadditional screenshots and gameplay fromThe Medium, it seems that players will walk between two separate realities that are now starting to meld together. This is portrayed within the promo art, with one reality on the left and one reality on the right. Based on the promo art and everything shown in the trailer, it seems like Marianne is the only one that can experience both realities.
It will be interesting to see what ultimately comes from this game. WithTroy Bakerbeing cast as the villain, players will likely be in for quite a disturbing performance. Though, not much else can really be gleaned from the trailer and the promo art at this point, but as time goes on and more of this game gets shown off, it’s starting to more intensely resemble another iconic horror game franchise.
This piece of promo art in particular bears a stark similarity toSilent Hill. BothSilent HillandThe Mediumshare a sort of tonal transition where the player is transported from this pale, gloomy, unsettling environment that features cooler colors to this nightmarish hellscape that features much warmer colors. Though, it also helps that the game’s music is being composed bya formerSilent Hillcomposer.
Ultimately, both the new trailer and piece of promotional art do a good job of showing off the game, while also keeping the audience in the dark of what it might actually be. UnlikeSilent Hill,The Mediumwill feature no weapons, forcing players to fend for themselves in terms of whatever means of defense the game will provide. Hopefully, more gameplay footage will release soon enough.
The Mediumis in development for PC and Xbox Series X.
