JoJo’s Bizarre Adventurehas rather odd storylines that don’t always go into some of the finer details of the series. This is where fans have stepped up to the plate, creating compelling theories about the series. Some of the best theories are so good it’s hard to imagine that they aren’t canon.

Both the manga and anime ofJoJo’s Bizarre Adventurefocus heavily on combat and the adventures its main characters go on, leaving little room for character development. This leads many show fans to create theories to connect the stories, develop the characters, and further the storyline. The top theories cover small details of the story, but after hearing the reasoning, it’s not that far of a stretch for these ideas to be reality.

Star Platinum is Jonathan Joestar

Star Platinum is Jotaro Kujo’s stand, with powers the same as Dio’s stand, The World. Initially, this theory sounds ridiculous; at the beginning of part 3, it’s explained that stands are the extension of a person’s fighting spirit. So, this would mean that Star Platinum is an extension of Jotaro, but the Joestars are different. They got their stands after Dioemerged with Jonathan’s body, activating their stand, different from other stand users who are born with it or gain it from an arrow. The evidence that fans use in addition to this technicality comes from what Jonathan once said to Dio and Star Platinum’s appearance.

During part one, when battling Dio, Jonathan proclaims that his ghost would haunt Dio if he died. Knowing Jonathan Joestar, this wouldn’t have been an empty threat; Jonathan’s spirit would have kept tabs on Dio. Meaning that after his return, Jonathan would come back to stop Dio; what better than as a stand. Pure fighting energy would be needed to stop Dio. This would also explain why Jotaro and Dio have the same stand. Dio uses Jonathan’s body so maybe what would have been Jonathan’s stand came out, and because Star Platinum is Jonathan’s spirit, they’d have the same abilities. In addition to this, Star Platinum is the only stand to have hair. He also physically looks like Jonathan and has similar fighting patterns. With Hamon, vampires, and stands, it wouldn’t be crazy to think there are ghosts.

Jotaro has PTSD

This fan theory focuses on Jotaro Kujo, specifically his character, in parts 4-6. Many fans theorize that the battle with DIO was harder on him than the show leads the viewer to believe. The evidence of this theory has to do with Jotaro’s interaction with Stands, the topic of DIO, and his reactions to past events. The best example of this is right before Jotaro attacks Kira, he’s injured, facing down a blond enemy that shares some traits with DIO. While monology, Jotaro is visibly angry and perhaps shaken over this encounter, he snaps at beating Kira up. He probably lost his composition because it reminded him ofwhen he fought DIO.

Another thing is that Jotaro didn’t use Star Platnium after defeating DIO. This could have been because he didn’t need him, but some fans speculate that stopping time bothers him, almost like a reminder of his fight with DIO. This is an anime where the characters stand, but they are also typical people dealing with these encounters. It wouldn’t be wild to think that one of the only surviving Crusadershad trouble processing what happened.

Joseph in Part 4 of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

Joseph was Never Senile

The last theory to be covered focuses on Joseph Joestar. The man who defeated the ultimate life form tracked down Dio and saved an invisible baby. Though even with everything that he’d done, Joesph, like everyone else, ages, and in part four, he’s introduced to his son Josuke as a frail, senile old man. Now glance, this makes sense. The strong Joesph of parts 2 and 3 is gone, leaving a short man needing a cane. He wanders off a lot, leading Josuke to chase him around town, but does that mean he’s senile. Some fans don’t think so. In fact, they believe he’s faking it.

The reasoning behind this comes down to his actions in part four and Joseph’s character. In part four, after finding the invisible baby, Joseph has enough sense to take care of her, try to stop the stroller, and sacrifice himself to find her when she is in the water. All of these actions don’t sound like they were done by someone senile. So, if Joseph is fine, why pretend? Well, he doesn’t want to get yelled at by his family for cheating on Susie Q. If everyone thinks he is crazy, they’ll leave him alone, and this thoughtprocess aligns with Joseph’spersonality. He’s always been about self-preservation. That’s why he ran away so much in part two.

This would mean that Joseph Joestar defeated the ultimate life form, helped defeat DIO, and tricked his entire family into thinking he was crazy. What hasn’t this man done?
