With reports thatThe Witcherseason 2 is set to start filming as early as this month, new roles have started being cast. While we’re still waiting to hear news on who will play characters like Vesemir,The Witcherseason 2 has cast a new character named Violet.
The WitcherNetflix news site Redanian Intelligence reports that Carmel Laniado has been cast as Violet in season 2. While some fans have assumed that Violet is a codename for someone from the books, but apparently she is a completely original character. Violet will appear in at least three episodes ofThe Witcherseason 2, though further details on her character are unavailable at the time of this writing.

Some fans may not recognize Laniado’s name, and that’s because she is just 15 years old and relatively new on the scene. So far, her biggest acting credit is as Lady Rose in the recently-releasedRobert Downey Jr.Dolittlefilm, but she also appeared inA Christmas Carolon FX. Appearing inThe Witcherseason 2 should only help her career, as the first season was the second-most watched TV series on Netflix for all of 2019.
Hearing any news aboutThe Witcherseason 2 is no doubt exciting for fans, but it’s understandable that some may be more interested in learning who has been cast for characters who have already been established. One of the biggestWitcherseason 2 roles that fans are waiting to hear casting news about is Vesemir, with many hoping to seeStar Warsstar Mark Hamillin the role.
In the meantime, it remains to be seen what other characters may joinThe Witcherseason 2. And with thesecond season not premiering until 2021, it’s unlikely that we will learn more any time soon.
