There is not a gamer out there that is a fan ofThe Simsfranchise that’s not waiting forSims 5with bated breath. Since 2000, when the first Sims game came out, fans have been obsessed with the option to create a person, house, relationship, career, etc. of their dreams and enjoy it for hours on end.

Only 4 games have come out in 23 years, but each of them has generously given the players lots of options (especially inSims 3and4), with upgrades, DLC’s, expansions, packs, and more. But since it’s now almost a decade since the last game came out, fans cannot help but have some, let’s say, intensewishes about whatSims 5is going to include and what should not be brought back from the previous games.

6Emotions Range

While it’s true that there are people out there who would go from absolute rage to bliss quite easily when it happens in Sims it is exhausting to the player whotries to balance everything on a thin lineof random happenstances.Sims 3was a bit more balanced when it came to emotions, butSims 4went completely off-track, allowing absolute bliss when a major event happened in a player’s Sims, and absolute chaos for something menial, like being very hungry while also wanting to pee.

While it’s understandable that a game couldn’t go as far as to include every little emotion that actual humans have, it’s not exactly easy for the player to build up for a promotion only to have their angry Sim miss work or go in a bad mood just because they burned a cake.

5Limited Customization

If there is something thatSims 5shouldn’t bring back, that is the limited customization. InSims 3there is a color wheel to allow the player to make their own choices regarding furniture and clothes colors and patterns. This was an amazing thing for players that wanted to actuallymake their house a dream homewith everything personalized.

Sims Customization

InSims 4this was not an option anymore. For some of the players this wasn’t a big problem since they didn’t usethe previous customization featurethat much, but for most players, and especially the ones who loved to recreate houses from real life or movies, this limited their choices significantly, and made the players that were creating Sims for others in the online mode a real killjoy.

4Prices Of Expansions And DLC’s

If someone was to buy all the 19 kits available right now, they would have to spend, literally, 1000 dollars (995 to be exact). This is an astounding amount of money for the gamers that want to have thefull experience of the belovedSimsgame, and the company rests assured in the fact that many people who have the ability, will actually buy them.

But for most gamers, that price is a no-no. This makes a lot of them either illegallydownload the expansions, or just have to do with the more basic versions, which makes them miss a lot - or at least makes them think that they would miss a lot.Simsis a game that can become easily tiresome for a lot of gamers, so the DLC’s and expansions are a very vital part of the game.

Sims Expansions

3Fewer Traits

In a game as unique as the Sims are, it is only expected that the player should be able to customize their Sim as much as possible. And while face and body wise this has a lot of options, personality wise this is lacking. The playercan pick 3 traitsto give to their Sim and then get one extra depending on the life/career path they choose. But almost everyone agrees that 3 traits are far too few.

Sims Traits

InSims 3, the player was able to pick 5 personality traits, which was better, but still, the game could benefit from having more available slots, andmore options for personality traits. And since players are wanting ideal scenarios, it would also be nice if those traits, when picked, would do more than they currently do, in terms of everyday life.

2Loading Times And Screens

It seems like whatever action the player wants to do inSims 4, there is always a dreaded threshold they have to pass, that of the loading screen. If the player wants togo from one world to another, it’s understandable that they will be a loading screen, and the players accept this with no fuss – although a lot will agree that open-world would be way better. But a losing screen when switching from one player to another? That’s a bit excessive.

Now, for some this was mildly annoying, but for some other gamers, especially the ones that might have older computers or laptops, this was a burden that could actually make them stop playing the game altogether.

1Prices Go Up, Selections Go Down

It becomes immensely hard for players to not usecheat codes for getting more moneywhen the prices go up in almost every game. But it would be somewhat worth it if the choices were more. A lot more.

In the firstSimsgames, this might not have caused a problem, since the things someone could do were limited. But having the option to create whole cities and faces with incredible detail butnot having enough furniture choices, makes the game seems unbalanced.

The Sims 5is in the works with release dates to be confirmed.
