There are many eye-catching armor sets inDestiny 2for cos-players to bring life to, and one has given their time to creating the Midnight Exigent Titan armor set in accurate detail. The most visually striking sets tend to come from the game’s various endgame activities, such as the raids andTrials of Osiris, and reflect the activity’s theme to help it stand out. Midnight Exigent falls in-line with this thinking, channeling the sharp angles and robotic aesthetic to reflect the narrative source of this armor set, the Warmind Rasputin.
Rasputin’s influence can be seen or felt all acrossDestinyandDestiny 2, with the artificial intelligence representing the peak of human innovation before the arrival of The Witness and subsequent collapse. The Warmind’s narrative importance led it to be the focus of several expansions and seasons, with players either having to defend it or seek its aid against various threats, be-it a Hive worm god or a Cabal war machine on a crash course with the Last City. However, Rasputin met its end in Season of the Seraph, sacrificing itself to prevent the destruction of the Last City shortly before The Witness' arrival inLightfall.

The Midnight Exigent titan armor, in particular, comes fromDestiny 2’s second expansion,Warmind, which saw players venture toRasputin’s core on Marsto stop a Hive force threatening it. It was this armor set Reddit user and cosplayer fechtfrau focused their efforts on, accurately bringing the armor to life with all the sharp edges and machine grays players would expect from the base armor design. At the time of writing, fechtfrau confirmed the entire upper body was complete though a “proper harnessing system” was still needed.
WhileWarmindhad a new campaign and raid lair to hop into, its marque activity wasEscalation Protocol, an activity set inside the new Mars patrol zone which pit guardians against increasingly difficult waves of Hive. The activity became a hotspot for many players at the time due to the then-new IKELOS SMG, shotgun, and sniper rifle, with the SMG and shotgun being two of the more desirable weapons due to their respective perks. While the weapons rotated weekly, the armor could be easily farmed for anyone wanting to kit out their guardians to look like a soldier of Rasputin.
The armor set, itself, also serves another example of the dueling fantasy and sci-fi themes present all over theDestinyuniverse for players to dig into. Magic and technology exist almost hand-in-hand, represented in guardians powers and the gear they take into battles againstThe Witnessand its forces across Sol. Rasputin-themed gear has typically leaned the hardest into the sci-fi aesthetic for players who prefer that design, and fechtfrau’s work has seen this notion jump off the screen and fully wearable.
Destiny 2is currently available for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
