With the addition of Adventure Mode inVampire Survivors' patch 1.8, players can now take on new challenges akin to a story mode. These scenarios feature a smaller/more focused roster of characters and weapons alongside varied objectives for players to accomplish. Indeed, many adventure stages have objectives beyond simply hitting the time limit which must be completed to progress.

After an Adventure is completed inVampire Survivorsplayers can “Ascend” that adventure. This functions somewhat similarly to a “New Game +” system, allowing players to restart the Adventure from the beginning whilst reaping some additional benefits. This guide will break down how “Ascend Adventure” works.

How Ascend Adventure Works

After completing an Adventure, the option “Ascend Adventure” will be added to the Adventure Menu. The game simply states that doing so will reset the Adventure for a fresh run, but there’s an additional perk to Ascending the Adventure. You will gain an Ascension Point whenever you complete and Ascend an adventure, which can be spent to get a powerful bonus in that Adventure from now on.

Players can put their Ascension Points towards boosting Luck, Growth, Greed, and Curse. The first point spent will raise that stat by 25%, with additional points in the same stat having diminishing returns. This can make a huge difference to repeat runs and especially helps players attempting Limit Break runs with a single weapon. For amassing Ascension Points early on, upgrading Growth and Greed will help a lot. Once players have a comfortable amount of bonus Growth and Greed, it becomes much easier to clear the Adventure repeatedly and amass points.

For players interested in maxing out their Ascension Points, it appears that a maximum of 60 points can be earned and used. That means 60 runs through the Adventure for players who want to fill up on those points. With four Adventures available right now, that’s quite a lot of playtime for completionists. (240 playthroughs across four Adventures, to be precise) Ascension Points and the bonuses gained from themare specific to the Adventure they are earned in.

Ascension Points can be reassigned at any time, allowing players to tailor their bonuses to whatever challenge they’re currently facing and whatever they currently find themselves lacking, so there’s no need to worry about spending them.

Ultimately, Ascend Adventure is a fun perk that makes repeat Adventure runs more interesting, but players don’t need to concern themselves with amassing every last Ascension Point unless they’re a completionist and have plenty of time to run through the Adventures. Just take it easy on the extra Curse unless you’re certain you’re up for the challenge.
