Summary
Part one of the Atlantic City update and Season 15 are still very new forFallout 76, but they are far from the end of what fans can expect from the game’s ongoing support going forward. With the Atlantic City part two update, Season 16, and much more just around the corner, 2024 is already on track to be one of the biggest years forFallout 76throughout the game’s long history. Whether players will be joiningFallout 76for the first time this year or will be returning for yet another year, players arguably won’t want to miss whatFallout 76has in store for 2024.
Between what’s already been revealed so far, and based on what fans have come to expect over the years of playingFallout 76, both new fans and returning players should be excited for 2024 in particular. Specifically, this new year will host the return of new and returning fan-favorite Seasonal Events, potentially more tie-ins from the upcomingFalloutTV series, and several new main story questlines across multiple major content updates.
Fallout 76’s Season 15 Roadmap Explained
The current content and events roadmap forSeason 15 ofFallout 76will be in effect until June 13, 2025. Throughout the timeline of this current roadmap, players can expect various bug fixes and patches, but it will be a bit longer before any major content updates are released. The main highlights of this community calendar roadmap are the dates of returning Seasonal and weekend events to look out for, like double XP, Gold Bullion, and legendary scrip weekends. However, one unique event that stands out is the new Burning Love Challenge Event.
Similar to previous Challenge Events, likeFallout 76’s annual birthday celebrations, the Burning Love Challenge Event will task players with completing a series of daily and weekly challenges to earn exclusive, time-limited rewards. This Event is expected to be identical to last year’s Burning Love Challenge Event, featuring exclusive new Valentine’s Day-themed rewards.
Major Content Updates Coming to Fallout 76 in 2024
Regarding major content updates, so far there are two updates confirmed forFallout 76in 2024,part two of the Atlantic City updatesand another currently unnamed update. Given the game’s patterns and history of updates in previous years though, it’s likely that there may be additional updates beyond the two that are confirmed so far. However, given the scope of these two upcoming content updates andFallout 76’s other plans for 2024, they could just as well be the only two major content updates for the year.
Atlantic City Part Two
The next upcoming free content update forFallout 76will be part two of the Atlantic City updates. This update will deliver multiple story quests involving the survivors andfactions from Atlantic City, and it will also allow players to finally free-roam the locations of the two Atlantic City Expeditions. Additionally, this update is expected to kick off the next season forFallout 76, Season 16. The release date for the second Atlantic City update is scheduled for the summer of 2024.
Fallout 76’s 2024 Shenandoah Map Expansion Update
In a recent update fromFallout 76’s Art Director, Bethesda has already teased another majorcontent update coming toFallout 76in 2024, but it doesn’t have a release date yet. This update will notably provide a map expansion forFallout 76, opening up the Shenandoah National Park area of Virginia on the Southern region ofFallout 76’s existing map. So far, aside from this new major location, this update is also said to include a new questline and new factions, along with new rewards.

Aside from Fasnacht and the first Treasure Hunter events that are included in the active Season 15 community calendar, most of the dates of the other returning Seasonal Events are currently unknown. While it may be fair to assume that these returning Seasonal Events will repeat similar dates from previous years, Bethesda recently announced thatFallout 76’s Seasonal Eventswill generally run much more frequently throughout 2024 and beyond.
Bethesda has also recently revealed that therewards fromFallout 76’s Seasonal Eventswill be getting updated. Given that some of these events recently got updated with new rewards in 2023, it’s safe to assume that this is only referring to the events that haven’t been updated in a while. Specifically, this would include Invaders From Beyond, the Mothman Equinox, and the Treasure Hunter Seasonal Events.
Additionally, there will also be new Seasonal Events joining the rotation in 2024. Whether these new seasonal events will be Public Events like the ones that players are familiar with, or if they will be Challenge Events similar to February’s Burning Love Challenge Event remains to be seen. Ultimately, both of these would be welcome additions to givenew and returning players inFallout 76more content and rewards to engage with.
What the Fallout TV Show Could Mean for Fallout 76 in 2024
SinceFallout 76currently serves as the flagship platform for the entire Fallout franchise, if any game will be getting content inspired by theFalloutTV Show, it will beFallout 76. There have already been promotional items added toFallout 76, such as cosmetics based on the upcoming show, so it’s safe to assume that similar content will come again.
While it’s not reasonable to assume thatFallout 76will ever receive a major content update based on the TV show adaptation, the show may still impactFallout 76’s release schedule for planned updates. Specifically, the release of the upcoming second Atlantic City update will likely be released close to the date of the TV show’s pilot episode to appeal to the franchise’s newfound fans.
