Maps inHomeworld 3are fairly small and will have players engaging their enemies very quickly into a match. With alimited number of resourcesin a game it’s important to stay one step ahead of your opponents usually with better ships.
While it is possible to counter bigger ships with the right combination of smaller ships it’s equally as important to have access to as many ships as possible to be ready to counter whatever your enemy is building. Players can research multiple ships at once, but doing so may use up all their resources at the beginning of the game.
Best Hiigaran Ships To Research First In Homeworld 3
Get To Frigates Then Branch Out
Players have to research Interceptos at the start of any game whileplaying as Hiigaran. Fleet Bombers are a useful ship for much later in the game, and even though they aren’t expensive it’s best to focus on other things first before going back to get the fleet bombers once your enemy has larger ships that Fleet Bombers counter. The Railgun Corvette is the only option next for Hiigaran and will also need to be followed up by the Assault Frigate.
The Hiigarans have multiple Frigates to choose from with the best ones toget first being the Suppression Frigate then the Support Frigate.If the Suppression Frigate is made early, it can quickly take out enemy Strikecraft which will usually be the bulk of a player’s fleet early into the game. The Support Frigate is the Hiigaran Ship that repairs other ships including the Mothership if needed. Also pairingSupport Frigates with Suppression Frigates can make an unstoppable combo against enemy Strikecraft.
Best Incarnate Ships To Research First In Homeworld 3
Research Fast To Press The Advantage
The Incarnates have the advantage of not having other Stikecraft to research first and can research the Assult Corvette at the start of the game. While they do have other Corvette options to choose from, it’s best topress that advantage and research the Assault Frigate immediatelyafter the Corvette is done as this will give a powerful ship almost a full minute before even a Hiigaran player who is fast-tracking stronger ships.
The Capture Corvette is a useful option to research after or during the Assault Frigate as using them won’t pull from your resource production to capture enemy ships like it does for the Hiigaran. The Incarnate Assault Frigate is strong against Strikecraft making thenext best ship to research would be Smart Missile Frigate to deal with bigger ships.Incarnate playerscan get this anti-frigate ship right around the time Hiigarans get their first frigates. Building enough of these quickly can help keep Hiigaran Frigate output in check and give the Incarnate player a great upper hand during this point in a game.
