Monica Lee,Overwatch 2’s game producer, stated, “For me,Overwatchhas been a social game. And we’re really looking forward to bringing that into Hero Mastery next year with Hero Mastery Gauntlet.” For those who enjoy theteam-based elements ofOverwatch 2, this may be an extremely promising addition. Consequently, as the attacking bots get more difficult, communication and strategy should become all the more important.
Hero Mastery Gauntlet Might Be The PvE Content Fans Have Longed For
Since the hero-shooter first launched, fans have criticized thereplayability ofOverwatch 2’s PvE content. Some believe that many of the latest PvE missions and storylines have no long-lasting appeal. Fortunately, with Hero Mastery Gauntlet’s seasonally rotating cast of three heroes, players will have a chance to demonstrate their mechanical skill and situational awareness on different characters. At the time of writing, there are ten heroes currently in Hero Mastery or releasing soon. This leaves 29 heroes to join Hero Mastery Gauntlet’s ranks later this year.

Most significantly, Hero Mastery Gauntlet is going to become a permanent feature when it does launch. This means that, unlike game modessuch asOverwatch 2’s Trials of the Sanctuary, this feature won’t be a limited-time event that disappears after two weeks. Due to this, Hero Mastery Gauntlet could finally be the answer to the players asking for more PvE content. Since its launch, the clamor for more co-op challenges has only grown louder, and this new mode could be the ideal response to those wishes.
Furthermore, not just a bone thrown toOverwatch 2PvE enthusiasts, Hero Mastery Gauntlet might be inviting to competitive players as well. Its co-op challenges could offer a welcome change of pace, fostering teamwork and strategic mastery alongside friends. Lamentably, Blizzard has yet to give this feature a release date, which means it could be coming quite soon, or it could be released closer to the end of the year. With any luck, the developers will share more information sooner rather than later.
