Washington D.C. Could Be a Good Destination For Fallout 76

Fallout Already Visited Washington D.C. In The Past

The Capital Wasteland ofBethesda’s highly influentialFallout 3consists of the remains of what used to be Washington D.C. and the area surrounding it. As a result, longtime players of the series would already have a good idea of several of the local landmarks. In fact, aFallout 76expansion sending players to Washington D.C. would have the potential to be a nostalgia trip for those who playedFallout 3. Of course, not everything could be revisited, both for space issues as well as canon reasoning. Even so,Fallout 76could give fans ofFallout 3a big gift by heading back to their old neighborhood.

The Revolutionary War Could Inspire a Fallout 76 Expansion

Washington D.C. could be the source ofFallout 76’s next big event. With Washington D.C. being the capital of pre-war America, andFallout 76’s title bringing to mind the year 1776, the game could bring in some content themed on the Revolutionary War. A few ideas could include period-era outfits and weapons to add to players' collections, such as muskets, rifles, and bayonets of the time. The game could even experiment with things like colonial-era ghouls or a faction inspired by the era’s government. Such an idea might not be too far out of place as far asFallout 76is concerned.

Fallouthas had Revolutionary War themes before, particularly in the case ofFallout 4’s Minutemen.

Adding Washington D.C. would hardly be the first significant expansion toFallout 76’s wasteland.Fallout 76’s addition of Atlantic Cityis perfect evidence for that. In addition, since Appalachia in the game is roughly in the area of West Virginia, it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to say that the protagonist could travel to Washington D.C. to have an adventure there. Considering how many pastFalloutgames have featured DLC that brings the player to different maps, it’s not an unexpected factor anymore. There’s solid precedent that could logically point toFallout 76getting an expansion in Washington D.C.

Fallout 76still has room to expand, and those expansions could include an excursion to Washington D.C. In addition to providing players withmore reasons to playFallout 76, a Washington D.C. area would have a lot of potential in general. There would be plenty of room for fun throwbacks toFallout 3as well as new content that could give a new meaning to the game’s title.Fallout 76’s future can hold many more improvements that have yet to show themselves.
