After a few days, theWorld of Warcraft: Shadowlandspre-patch has breathed new life into Azeroth. While many players are busy testing out the gameplay updates and class changes, the long-awaited level squish means everyone can now pick where they want to level without having to abruptly leave because of scaling.
Thanks toChromie Time, veteran players may choose any of the past 7 expansions to quest through from level 10 to 50. Although this scaling feature is enabled by speaking to Chromie within Orgrimmar or Stormwind, characters aren’t limited to a single expansion and can switch at anytime for specific storylines or to mix up the leveling process. These adjustments have also caused some former endgame content zones to become later options for leveling

Kalimdor Zones
Players going through theClassicandCataclysmzones in Kalimdor will experience stories centered around the Night Elves, Draenei, Orcs, Tauren, and Trolls.
Zone, Level Range
Eastern Kingdoms Zones
In the Eastern Kingdoms, storylines involveHumans, Dwarves, Gnomes, Blood Elves, and the Forsaken.
Burning Crusade Zones
Players will fight against Illidan’s forces or the Burning Legion on the shattered remnants of Outland.
Wrath of the Lich King Zones
Every Northrend storyline against undead or other enemies eventually ties into the final battle againstArthaswithin Icecrown.
Mists of Pandaria Zones
Each area has players helping the natives of Pandaria with natural problems or conflict caused by bothWorld of Warcraftfactions.
Warlords of Draenor Zones
In this alternate reality of the past, the Iron Horde must be defeated to prevent the destruction of 2 worlds.
Legion Zones
Players must find the Pillars of Creation, seal the Tomb of Sargeras, and invade Argus to end the Burning Legion’s threat once and for all.
Battle for Azeroth Zones
The most recent expansion has heroes cleaning up problems in Zandalar and Kul Tiras while foreshadowing the true threat ofN’Zoth.
While everyone still levels quicker than ever, the scaling update ensures players can finally see some ofWorld of Warcraft’sgreatest storylines in their entirety rather than having the journey cut short.
