While the genre has always been popular, it seems there are more farming simulators today than ever, perhaps due to therunaway success ofStardew Valley.This one, of them all, is definitely oneStardewfans should check out.
Homestead Arcanareleases on Xbox Game Passacross all platforms today, with fans able to play it on their consoles, via the Cloud, and on PC. In it, players are a farming Witch who, alongside creating their own farm, must explore a region corrupted by Miasma.Homestead Acanaoutlines its goal as discovering what caused the Miasma to take over the land, using plants to power various spells, and using nature’s magic itself to heal the corrupted land.

Fitting thefarming sim genre, players will start on their own homestead and build it up while discovering new plants. The Miasma and its dangers are the biggest twist, but something perhaps best experienced. New spells, new planets, new recipes, and new knowledge can be earned through exploration, alongside the player’s cat familiar, the adorable Huckleberry.

Xbox Game Pass may have some weaknesses, but these games definitely highlight its strengths.
